Company History and Profile
The Company benefits from a rural situation in North Derbyshire,
close to the M1 and M6 motorway networks giving access to all
major centres throughout the country.
Originally the product of an earlier
joint-venture in the 1980's between Tate & Lyle Industries
PLC and Plasma Coatings Limited the partnership brought together
the essential sciences and skills necessary to create an independent
producer of high quality Calcium Hydroxylapatite and Flame spray
technology for the provision of coatings for orthopaedic and
dental implants.
With now almost 20 years experience and histology of the product,
the company provides a regular coating service for a number of
major orthopaedic device manufacturers.
CAPTAL® Hydroxylapatite has been the precursor material
in other bio-material developments at the (IRC) Interdisciplinary
Research Centre, Queen Mary & Westfield London University,
and several Universities and companies in the U.K, South Africa,
Singapore, Australia, Portugal, Spain, and the U.S.A.
